Our History

TDG Ship Management, Inc. (TDGSM) is a corporation duly organized and existing under the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. It is a company that is engaged in the ship management business which includes the provision of technical, operations, purchasing, chartering and commercial, accounting, quality assurance, human resource and crewing requirements of vessels.

TDGSM is a proud member of Transnational Diversified Group (TDG). TDG has more than 30 member companies that are major players in diverse industries and has several business partners in both local and international corporations around the globe.

TDGSM was formerly named Transnational Ship Management, Inc. (TranSM) registered in the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on July 3, 1995. It changed its business name in 2015 as a way of rebranding the company to gain a wider market presence to attract prospective customers who can choose among various ship management services. Its head office is located at the Port Area in the City of Manila.

TDGSM owes its corporate success to its most valuable resource base, its people. The company provides them training and career development programs, and attractive incentive packages which come in the form of salaries and other fringe benefits. With its exemplary performance, zero-off-hire resulting to satisfied charterer, TDGSM is considered as one of the formidable ship management companies in the Philippines.

Since July 25, 2000, TDGSM has managed the vessel C/S PLDT—formerly C/S Koyo Maru and currently C/S Vega—under registry of Philippine flag and was delivered at Shimoneseki, Japan in 1984 with gross tonnage of 1,706T. The vessel is owned by NTT-World Engineering Marine Corporation (NTT-WE MARINE) based in Japan.

The vessel services the Japan, Taiwan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Philippines territorial waters. It is primarily used by the Philippine Long Distance Company (PLDT) to maintain the submerged portion of its Domestic Fiber Optic Network (DFON) in the region and to serve as floating cable depot for spare cables weighing up to 400 tons. It is known as the first cable ship manned by a full-Filipino crew complement. The Philippines also serve as home port during stand-by.

In 1997, TDGSM also managed Sovereign Accord, a ship carrying container, owned by Accord Shipping and chartered by NYK Line. Further, in October 2006, TDGSM also handled the technical management of M/T Sunrise Sampaguita owned by Transnational Uyeno Maritime, Inc. (TUMI).
